Natural Dye Garment Care instructions

Here are some tips for caring for naturally dyed Garment.
  • Wash lessWash naturally dyed clothing as little as possible. 
  • Wash gentlyHand wash if possible, or use a delicate cycle in the washing machine. 
  • Use a mild detergentUse a pH-neutral, low-ph, or mild liquid detergent. Dissolve the soap in cold water before adding the fabric. Avoid fabric softener, which can leave a residue. 
  • Dry out of direct sunlightSunlight can fade natural dyes, so line dry in the shade. 
  • Avoid bleachDon't use bleach on naturally dyed fabrics. 
  • Treat stains quicklyIf a stain occurs, act as quickly as possible to prevent the pigments from settling. Add water and soak the fabric. You can also try pouring hot water through the fabric like a sieve. 
  • Be careful with acidsNatural dyes react to acid, so be careful when handling citrus or citrus juices. 
  • Expect fadingNatural dyes will fade and shift over time. This is normal and to be expected.
